[Kidding entirely. It's obvious she's in a very playful mood now that her job is done.

More obvious when her answer to his second question is simply to sit up and pull that dress off, revealing that she was wearing that bikini underneath the whole time.

She'll just throw it at him now.]

I'll be outside when you're ready.

[Deckard shrugs. Once he gets back to London, he'll probably just knick one. Maybe two or three, if he feels like selling them off for petrol money.

When Shelby stands and does her big reveal, he laughs despite himself, throwing the dress over his shoulder.]

Now that's what I'm talking about. I'll be there in a minute.

[It's more like two or three, but he does meet her at the hot tub with drinks and wearing a very tight, trim pair of trunks. He sets the drinks down and turns the knob that controls the hot tub.]

[Shelby just smiles demurely over at him when he joins her, taking a few minutes for the heat to seep into her muscles. It usually takes a good two or three weeks before her body finally slows down from the season.]

So. What's on your mind? Because I feel like half the things I talk about must be secretly boring you to tears.

[Of course she may just climb onto his lap in a minute.]

[Deckard slides into the steaming, rolling water, instantly enjoying the sensation as the warmth makes its way into his muscles. Once seated, he hands Shelby her drink.]

Nah, not bored. It's nice to not talk shop for a while.

God, sometimes I think that's all I talk about.

[Because that's really all her life consists of. She takes a long drink as she dares to sidle up beside him. She's not cuddling, she's just...enjoying the proximity.]

My dad threatened someone with a shotgun the other night. You would've been amused.

[The proximity's not a problem. The cuddling might have been. He lets out a short, barking laugh at her words.]

I just bet I would have. How'd it happen?

At work. I took a date to the championship party, Dad went full-on protective even though said date was just a friend doing me a favor.

I understand why he does it but Christ, you know, I just want to be able to actually be with someone without wondering what he's going to think.

[about2knowme]

[He snorts.] Jesus. One look at me, and he'd be firing that shotgun, wouldn't he?

[Deckard glances over.] So is that it? Am I your current rebellious phase?

What? No. I genuinely find you attractive, is that so weird?

[He shrugs.] Just checking, just checking. And you're not bad yourself.

[shelbycobra]

Thank you. [Chuckles.] I do wonder why you put up with me sometimes.

Thought that'd be obvious. [Total deadpan.]

[shelbycobra]

[She'll just flip him off equally deadpan.]

[A fresh smirk.] You really gonna come to my house and give me attitude like that?

I think that's one of the reasons you love me. You gonna kiss me or what?

Hmpf. I don't know anymore.

[shelbycobra]

You're cute when you're grumpy.

Cute? All right, that tears it--

[He moves in, reaching for Shelby to pull her in for a hard, demanding kiss.]

[shelbycobra]

[She was obviously kidding and she's not sure he gets that. But she can't argue like this, and she's kissing him back while she just helps herself onto his lap so that he doesn't sprain her neck.]

[Oh, he knows it. But patience isn't his strongest virtue, so Deckard's glad when she moves onto his lap. It does indeed give them a better angle for kissing, and for him to run his hands down her back to her ass.]

[Shelby trusts whatever he wants to do. He may be a lot of things but she has been around him long enough to know he won't hurt her. So she just melts into that kiss, playfully nipping at his lower lip. She did kind of miss him but she's not going to say that and spoil the moment.]

[His hands knead at her firm rear end while they kiss. So maybe Shelby is a little more on the right side of the law than most people Deckard's comfortable dealing with, but they've got boundaries around this thing that make it work.] Finally starting to relax after that flight?

I am, thanks to you. Nice to get my mind off a few things bothering me.

So what I'm hearing is that I should start advertising my services as a therapist of some kind...
